How To Write A CV

First impressions count, so make the most of your CV. Here is a simple guide which you may find useful.

Be Honest – Many people feel the need to ‘be creative’ with their career history or qualifications. They will almost certainly be found out. The result of which will be loss of trust and credibility.

Be Concise – A CV should be no more than two pages long. Then broken down into sections covering: Personal Details, Qualifications, Career History. Where there is an abundance of information, focus on what is of most relevance to the reader.

Highlight Strengths and Achievements – Your CV is primarily a sales document so think about presenting your talents and achievements. Your achievements should differentiate you from other applicants and help secure you an interview.

Personalise – Information regarding hobbies, interests or achievements outside of the workplace can help to ‘breathe life’ into the CV. Not only will this help you ‘stand out from the crowd’ but it could also prove to be a good ‘ice breaker’ at interview.

Check Everything – Any document littered with errors will not create a good impression with employers.

Still Need Help? – If having read this brief guide, you would still like further assistance, please contact us directly and we will be delighted to help.
